Miramar Beach 2010

When Mom and Dad were here for Christmas, Bob and I talked about going to visit them in Florida this February because he had a week off of work.  When the time came, he found out he had a conference in Auburn, Alabama.  We decided that we would both drive to Florida together (with two cars) and then he would leave and go to Alabama and then come back to Florida when his conference was over. We left Sunday, February 14th and came back home the following Sunday.  The weather was a little chilly, but we had a fabulous time.  It felt so good not to have anything to do!!  AND...it was great to spend time with Mom and Dad!  The kids had never been to the beach so they were so excited.
Here's a picture of Grandma and Grandpa with the kids the night we got there.  Notice Dad doesn't have a beard!

Here are the flowers that Dad bought Mom for Valentine's Day.  He's still a romantic...even thought he tries not to act like it.  : )

Grandpa and Hailey

This is the view from the condo.

This is the view of the pool and hot tubs.

Grandma teaching Lindsey how to play her Solitaire game.

Out on the balcony.  (11th floor of 16)
Bob and Grandpa

We went out to feed the seagulls.  We had so much fun doing that.  The kids just giggled and giggled!

The first day wasn't very sunny and it was chilly.

Our first walk along the beach.

Johnny liked the construction vehicles.

Grandma and Grandpa got the kids some ice cream.

The next time we went to the beach the kids took their shoes and socks off, played in the sand and put their feet in the water.

Hailey LOVES to have her hair brushed by Grandpa Brode.

We went to the Baytown Wharf.  The kids played at the playground.

A giant chair.  The kids thought that was hilarious!

They even got Mommy up their.

We went to look at the boats.  It was really chilly out their by the water.

The kids couldn't take it any longer.  They had to go swimming in the pool.  It was 43 degrees outside, but the temperature of the pool was 85.  They weren't getting me in the water that day!!  This is a picture in the elevator on the way to the pool.

I was cold just watching them.  They were fine as long as they were in the water.  Once they got out they were freezing!
This is the only picture of the sunset I got.  You couldn't see the sunset from the condo.  By the time I got out there is was almost done.  It was still pretty though.

Eating breakfast.

The priest at the church my parents go to has a dog named Bridgett.  When he's done saying mass, Bridgett comes down and carries his hymnal.  It was pretty cute.  She's such a well behaved dog.  She greets everyone when they come in to church.

The kids took the pails and shovels down to the beach to build.

Grandma hung out with us for awhile.

Here's a view of the condo from the beach.

Daddy and me with the sun in our eyes.

They were only going to get their feet wet.  Johnny fell down in the water with jeans on.  After awhile he was miserable with wet, sandy jeans!

I LOVE this picture!

We went to Fudpuckers to feed the alligators.  This is their albino alligator.

It was following Lindsey's finger.  I think it was hungry!

The kids inside a sharks mouth!

Grandma and Grandpa too!

Yep..Mommy had to get a picture too.

They got to hold one of the alligators.  It's name was Versace.

Jo was very informative about the alligators.

The band started to come off Versace's  mouth.  Glad it didn't happen when the kids were holding him!

Hailey had to have her picture taken with the elephant in the gift shop.

There were 63 alligators in the water (and on the deck).

Now you know what Mom and Dad do all day in Florida!

The girls and me out on the balcony.

The kids finally got a chance to get in the ocean.  It was cold, but they had so much fun!

This is proof that I at least put my feet in!!

Then we went back and got in the pool.  It was warm enough for Mom to get in.  I was being silly with Johnny's goggles.

This man was building a sand sculpture.  We're not sure what it was supposed to be.  It sort of looked like Shrek.

Mom and Dad--don't they look great!!

All of us at dinner.

More feeding of the seagulls.

There were 5 or 6 people out on the water rowing on their surfboards or whatever this is.

The beautiful sunrise on our last day.

Getting ready to go home.

Me with Mom and Dad.

On the way home we decided to surprise the kids with a trip to the Jackson, MS zoo.  They were pretty excited when we pulled in.
Here is the alligator they captured.

Guess what they are looking at?

Of course!!  Hailey's elephants!

Lindsey was excited because there was a baby giraffe born since the last time we were there. He was so cute!

Johnny with his zebra's.

It was hard to come back home and get back into the swing of things.  In fact, I'm still trying!  We had a fabulous time
