Bob has a friend that lives in Little Rock and he invited us to come up and go to the Little Rock Zoo on Labor Day Weekend. It was a three hour drive so we got up and left at 6:30 in the morning and didn't get home until 10:00 at night. We had such a good time!!
Here's my monkey's looking at the lemurs.
Someone must have thrown in a tic-tac case. The gorilla found it and he kept holding it up like he was trying to get tic-tac's out of it.
Now onto the elephants. We found out that the elephant keeper was going to be answering questions about the elephants at 1:30. We made a trip to see the elephants before then and the elephant trainer was there. We asked her if we could talk to her. We introduced Hailey to her and told her how much she loves elephants and that she wants to be an elephant trainer when she gets bigger. She told Hailey what she would need to do to make that happen! She answered all the questions that we had and was really wonderful to us!
Back to the elephants. This is Ellen and Mary. Ms. April came out and talked about them and then answer questions about them.
After they took the elephants back, they put them in their house and let the kids come in their yard and hide treats for them. They had watermelon, pears, kiwi's, yams, cookies and lots more. The kids hid them all over their yard.
Needless to say, Hailey had the time of her life!!! It was hard to get her away from them to go look at other animals.
This black panther and leopard were having fun playing together. It was neat to watch. They were like little kittens playing.
Trip #3 to the elephants. Hailey and I went back to the elephants and everyone else went to look at other animals. When we got there they were in their house eating. After awhile they came out. Good thing because Hailey would have been really upset!!
She got a hold of my camera while I was on the phone with Grandma and Grandpa Brode and took some pictures of herself.
As we were sitting there at the elephants Ms. April came by and saw us. She asked us if we would like to go feed the giraffe's. Of course we said YES!! I told her Lindsey was going to be jealous and she asked if I could get a hold of them to get them over by the giraffe's. Luckily I got through to Bob's cell phone! Lindsey ran the whole way there!
It was really neat! Their tongues were REALLY long!
We made on last trip, #4, to the elephants. They were in their house. Hailey was so sad to leave them! Yes..there were more tears even though she got to spend so much time with the. It's never enough. I think she'd move in with them if she could.
These were metal giraffes in front of the zoo.
This was the ride home! They were exhausted! I couldn't get a picture of Lindsey.
We had a really great day at the zoo!! So glad we made the trip!!!
