Hailey's broken arm

Hailey had a birthday party on Tuesday at Skatetown for three little girls in her class.  But, did she break her arm while rollerskating????  NO!  She broke it while waiting for Lindsey to get done with her softball tryouts.  She fell off of the bleachers.  Boy was that a long ride to the emergency room.  I was on the phone with daddy right when it happened so he went directly to the ER and met us there.  They splinted her arm and referred us to an orthopedic surgeon.    It was a LONG night.  After she went to bed, mommy got out an elephant that she had stashed for another time.  Daddy had the idea to make a cast and sling for him.  He was waiting for her on her chair at the kitchen table.  Hailey named him "Caster"  (Isn't he cute?)
This is Hailey waiting to go in to get her cast on.  She insisted on bringing Caster with her!  He was a big comfort to her.

I don't think Hailey is happy about getting this on!
She thought it was really soft at first.
Here's Johnny trying to entertain himself!
She picked her very favorite color for her cast...red!
Almost done.  Still not looking too happy.  Caster looks happy though.
Time to put the sling on.

We go back next Wednesday to get it xrayed again to make sure it is setting right. Hopefully it will only have to be on 3-4 weeks and hopefully she'll be able to play
t-ball.  They start at the end of April so we're hoping it will be off in time.

What?!?! A broken arm?!?! Oh my!!

You guys are such loving parents to give her that elephant. After I had an accident in 3rd grade and had to get all kinds of tooth-work, my mom gave me these 2 owls hugging. I took them to every dentist/oral surgeon for years!!

Hope she heals fast and gets to play t-ball :D
