Johnny's broken arm

What an exciting Columbus Day we had.  We did our school work even though it was a holiday and all the other kids were off school.  We were finished with school and getting ready to go to 4-H when I hear Johnny crying hysterically.  Now, they cry and get upset with every little fall so I wasn't too concerned at this point....just annoyed...UNTIL he walked out of his room and I saw his arm.  It was shaped like an S so I knew right away that it was broke!  God was really watching over me because I stayed very calm.  I still don't know how.  I guess you just do what you have to do...plus, I just answered my own question.  God was watching over me.  I got all three kids in the the car and was trying to get Bob on the cell phone as I was going out of the drive way.  I was thinking he was in class, but it ends up he was actually flying.  I left him a message telling him that Johnny broke his arm.  He ended up calling me back when I was just about to the hospital and got there about 20 minutes after we did.
Here's Johnny in the room waiting for the doctor.  He hasn't had his morphine yet.
This is the Chinese finder hold that they put his arm in to try to get the bones back in place.  By this time he has had morphine.  He said this was comfy.  Yes...that was the morphine talking.
It had three of his fingers in these metal mesh holders and then they put weights over his elbow.  It looked so uncomfortable.
Here is the S shape.  It actually looks a little better here than it did initially.
His splint.  Notice the morphine is still kicking in.  Love the smile!
He got his sling and was ready to go home.
The next day we went to get his cast on.  Here is one of the x-ray pictures.  I didn't get a picture of the really bad one.  He broke both of the bones in his right arm.  How, do you ask???  Well, after multiple stories, the one we ended up with was that he was standing on his clothes hamper and Hailey was sword fighting with him, only he didn't have a sword.  He got pushed off with Hailey's sword.  I think Hailey felt pretty bad.  She did a lot of crying at the hospital and didn't want to stay in the room.  I don't think she will be our doctor.  Now Lindsey, on the other hand, was very interested in everything that was going on.  Imagine that!

He chose blue.  He really wanted camo, but they were out.
Finishing up.
After they got it on, the doctor and the tech had to mold it to his arm, so both men were squeezing his arm.  He was really crying.  I felt so bad for him.
Look at this face.  Doesn't he look pathetic.  I think I would have given him anything he wanted at this point.  Poor guy!  I don't; however, think he will ever stand on him hamper again!
